Freshman Commuters

If a student has a parent or guardian living within 70 minutes of the University, they can be granted a housing exemption and can live at home their freshman year. Every year, between 500 - 600 freshmen live at home.

Registration closes August 15.

Freshman Success Mentors

Fall 2018 Semester

Freshman Success Mentors partners small groups of freshman commuters with upperclassmen mentors to assist with a student's fall semester through e-mail, text, phone, and face-to-face communication about campus resources and events. This program takes into account the busy schedules of commuters and provides personal support as students make the transition to college. Freshmen who complete this program will receive an off-campus meal plan (valued at over $300) for the Spring 2019 semester. Registration closes August 15.

Please contact Samantha Higgins at or 479-575-7351 with questions about either of these programs.
